ABBA, half of which were the parents of Ulvaeus, disbanded in 1983. During this time, Agnetha Fältskog decided to record an LP with her daughter.[1] The LP, that was produced with the help of Michael Tretow, consisted of eighteen traditional Christmas carols and children's songs in Swedish. Nu tändas tusen juleljus was released in Sweden at the end of 1981.[2]
However, Ulvaeus wanted to be an actress. After her musical debut with Nu tändas tusen juleljus, she made her acting debut on 1998 film Under solen as Lena. Ulvaeus then appeared on television series Labyrinten in 2000; in 2001 she appeared on Blå måndag, released directly to the video.[3] She has also developed her career as a stage actress.
Ulvaeus appeared as a back vocal in the 2004 comeback single of her mother, "When You Walk in the Room". In 2006 Ulvaeus returned to big screen with the role of Sofia on 2006 film Meningen med alltihopa. She appeared in television series Playa del Sol in 2007.[4]
Ulvaeus was born to Agnetha Fältskog and Björn Ulvaeus, the former members of iconic pop group ABBA. Fältskog and Ulvaeus married on July 6, 1971.[5] Linda Elin Ulvaeus was born on February 23, 1973, in the Danderyd Hospital.[6] The second child of Fältskog and Ulvaeus, Peter Christian, was born on December 4, 1977.[7]
However, the couple decided to separate in late 1978, and Fältskog moved out of their home on Christmas night, December 25, 1978. In January 1979, the couple filed for divorce, which was finalised in June 1980. Both Fältskog and Ulvaeus agreed not to let their failed marriage interfere with their responsibilities with ABBA. ABBA disbanded in 1983. Alongside her mother, Linda Ulvaeus recorded her first album, Nu tändas tusen juleljus, aged just 7.
Linda Ulvaeus has three daughters with her fiancé Jens Ekengren.[8] Tilda Eliza Frida Ulvaeus-Ekengren was born on January 27, 2001, Esther Ulvaeus-Ekengren in February 2007 and Signe in February 2010.[9] Linda Ulvaeus lives with her family in her own house on her mother's horse farm on Ekerö, an island near Stockholm.
